Now that a `Bitmap` always stores a `BitmapData`, we can read the pixels
directly from the `BitmapData`, instead of duplicating them in an
`initial_data` field
This makes `Bitmap` delegate to `BitmapData` for
all of the bitmap-related information (handle, width, and height).
As a result, we now unconditionally store a `BitmapData` in `Bitmap`.
As a result, swapping the underling `BitmapData` instance will
automatically change the properties (and rendered image) of a `Bitmap`.
This required some refactoring in the render backends in order to
get access to a `BitmapHandle` through `BitmapData`.
We only called `get_bitmap_pixels` when creating a `BitmapData`
for an SWF-provided `Bitmap`. We now store the initial pixels
in `Character::Bitmap`, and use them to initialize a `BitmapData`
when needed.
This lets us simplify the wgpu backend, which no longer needs
to store a `Bitmap` object. In addition to saving space for
`BitmapData` objects that lack an SWF `Bitmap`, this will make
it easier to move data from `bitmap_registry` into `BitmapHandle`
itself.
Currently, we rely on ShapeTessellator being able to get a BitmapHandle
without a RenderBackend. With the upcoming BitmapData refactor,
we will always need a RenderBackend to get a BitmapHandle, which creates
borrow-checker issues in ShapeTessellator (which is stored in a
RenderBackend).
To solve this, we split BitmapSource.bitmap into two methods -
BitmapSource.bitmap and BitmapSource.bitmap_handle. ShapeTessellator
continues to use BitmapSource.bitmap, and uses the u16 bitmap id
instead of a BitmapHandle. The BitmapSource.bitmap_handle method
is used inside each render backend to convert the id to a BitmapHandle,
avoiding borrow-checker issues.
Instead of storing shared pointers to `Avm1ConstructorRegistry` in
`MovieLibrary`, access the `PropertyMap` directly, without an extra
abstraction.
Also, move the constructor registries to `Avm1`, for better
encapsulation.
Instead, the following terms are used:
* Static classes, to refer to `Class<'gc>`. Shortened to "class" in contexts where this is not ambiguous.
* Class objects, to refer to objects that represent a particular class. Also shortened to "class" in non-ambiguous contexts.
Downstream of this, the `base_constr` (referring to the class that a currently called trait has been pulled from) is now called `subclass_object` and several `TObject` methods have also been renamed.
This interface handles returning a bitmap given an ID and is used
by the render backend to get the bitmap used for a bitmap fill.
This will allow for bitmap fills in the drawing API, as these will
manage their own list of bitmaps.
This also removes the MovieLibrary dependency from render backends
and will allow for better decoupling in the future.
PR #4540 allowed shapes to replace their inner art handles via
replace PlaceObject tags. This can also happen for morph shapes and
static texts.
Add MorphShape::replace_with and Text::repalce_with. This fixes the
incorrect art in main menu buttons of Super Mario 63.
A `PlaceObjectAction::Replace` signals that a shape should
be swapped with a different shape. Previously we instantiated a
completely new `Graphic`, but this is incorrect; instead the
underlying shape handle should be swapped out, but the outer object
remains. This is visible in AVM2 where you can access `Shape` as
a normal display object.
When reading an SWF, search for FileAttributes and
SetBackgroundColor and return this along with the header data
because it's useful (in particular, the AS3 flag).
Move `MovieClip::is_swf` flag to `DisplayObject::is_root`, and use
this flag to handle the behavior of `DisplayObject.root` crawling
upwards until it hits a top-most loaded SWF/Bitmap.
Simplify `root` and `stage` so that they don't have to consider
buttons. Instead, do some trickery to ensure the button's states
see the proper values of `parent`, `root`, and `stage` during
construction.
Maintain an external mapping from symbol names to registered
constructors to properly handle `registerClass` being called on
not-yet-available symbols.
SWFs v6 and v7+ each have a separate global mapping, with
different case sensitivities.
Also returns the correct boolean value to the AVM.
Fixes#2343 and #1864.
Pass the movie library to `register_shape` methods so that bitmap
charcter IDs can be resolved immediately on the proper SWF.
This fixes#2037, which cause incorrect bitmaps to be used when
multiple movies were loaded.
